The 2nd Academic Forum on Advanced Manufacturing and Intelligent Technology, held on December 29, 2023, at Harbin University of Science and Technology, was organized by the university’s Science and Technology Department and the School of Mechanical and Power Engineering. Over 300 participants, including distinguished experts, enterprise representatives, open project leaders, and academic personnel, attended the event. Vice President Qingguo Chen delivered the opening speech, highlighting the university’s educational characteristics, academic achievements, and the pivotal role of technological innovation in industrial revitalization. He expressed the hope that the forum would foster in-depth collaboration among universities, research institutes, and enterprises to advance the transformation and upgrading of the national equipment manufacturing industry.
The forum featured keynote speeches by experts such as Chengyong Wang, Vice President of Guangdong University of Technology, and Fei Tao, Executive Deputy Dean of the International Research Institute at Beihang University. They discussed cutting-edge manufacturing technologies like intelligent manufacturing, high-end CNC machine tool development, and precision and ultra-precision processing technologies, sharing case studies and addressing industry challenges and opportunities. Additionally, project progress reports were presented by the leaders of open projects initiated in 2021 and 2022.
The forum concluded with expressions of gratitude from Xianli Liu and a summary by Bin Jiang. They thanked the participating experts and enterprise representatives and emphasized the laboratory’s commitment to deepen collaborative innovation, focusing on national strategies and regional development needs, and enhancing technology transfer. The forum’s success was underscored as it facilitated academic exchange, technological innovation, and strengthened cooperation between universities and enterprises, contributing to the development of China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry.
