Prof. Xiaohu Zhou serves as a Professor (Doctoral Supervisor) at the Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a recipient of the National Natural Science Fund for Excellent Young Scientists Fund Program, a member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and was selected for the first batch of the “Special Assistant Researcher Program” of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He has also been named a “Distinguished Research Fellow” of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
His main research areas include endovascular robots, tactile bionic perception, and intelligent image navigation. He has published over 60 academic papers in the field, including 16 in IEEE Transactions (11 as first/corresponding author), and 18 in top-tier conferences such as MICCAI, ICRA, IJCAI, and AAAI. He holds 3 authorized international PCT patents and 23 Chinese invention patents.
He has been funded by the National Excellent Youth Science Fund, Youth Fund, CIE-Tencent Robotics X Rhino-Bird Focused Research Program, Beijing Science and Technology Program, Regional Joint Key Fund, and sub-projects of the China National Key R&D Program. He has received honors including the “President’s Special Award” from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the “Best Paper Award” from IEEE RCAR 2022/2023 (for two consecutive years) and ICBIR 2023, “Best Paper Finalist” at IEEE ICRA 2020 and CME 2017, and the “Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award” from the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence and the Chinese Association of Automation.
Prof. Haitao Liu is a Doctoral Supervisor and has been recognized as an Outstanding Young Teacher in Higher Education Institutions of Guangdong Province. He is also an Outstanding Nanhai Scholar at Guangdong Ocean University, the leader of an Innovation Team in ordinary universities of Guangdong Province, a member of the Teaching Guidance Committee for Mechanical Fundamentals Courses in Undergraduate Universities in Guangdong Province, and the Vice Chairman of the Mechanical Application Professional Committee of the Chinese Tropical Crop Society.
His main research directions include multi-agent systems, artificial intelligence, marine robot technology and applications. He has published over 50 papers as the first author or corresponding author, among which 39 are SCI-indexed (including 2 in Zone 1 and 26 in Zone 2). He also holds 11 authorized invention patents and 8 utility model patents. He has led more than 10 scientific research projects, including 5 at or above the provincial and ministerial level.
